About

Batley Grammar School opened its doors in 1612 and has served all its learners with high quality education during this time.

We are proud of our history and, over the years, have nurtured and inspired a number of young people who have made their mark in industry, commerce, science, education and many more such as; Joseph Priestley, Sir Titus Salt, Sir Owen Richardson and more recently, Richard Reed of Innocent Smoothies and Lawrence Tomlinson of Ginetta Cars.

The strength of the school has always been in its ability to adapt to the changing environment and to evolve accordingly. We are a multi-cultural community and value harmony, tolerance and understanding for others, respecting and celebrating differences. We provide high quality education for both boys and girls of primary and secondary ages.

This collaboration enables us to share expertise, knowledge and best practice to ensure academic and pastoral excellence throughout our schools - sharing the same overall ethos and values, whilst maintaining our own unique character.
