At St Birinus School, we have the very highest expectations for both our staff and students. There is a strong ethos which consistently runs through the school, supporting the core values of Inspiring Excellence through Care, Courtesy and Commitment.
The last Ofsted inspection in February 2020, adjudged the school to be a Good school, however, we are striving every day to better and deliver the highest standards of teaching and learning. Single sex education works. SBS boys achieve very well year in year out and many go on to study at Russell Group universities.
Our vision is to equip the boys with the skills, knowledge and character to grab any opportunity and achieve their full potential and that is what we are focused on every day. However, the focus is not simply on the academic.
St Birinus is among the best schools in Oxfordshire in terms of offering a wide range of sports and extra-curricular activities, from football to archery, weightlifting to Warhammer. There is also a strong ethos in the arts, with a large number of boys engaged in Music, Dance and Drama.
