It is a privilege to introduce myself as the new Principal of The Skipton Academy. Having been part of this wonderful school community for the past seven years, I am delighted to continue our journey of growth and success in this new role.
I would also like to thank Mr. Richard McManus, who now takes on the role of Executive Principal for Moorlands Learning Trust, for his outstanding leadership and support in shaping the academy into the thriving school it is today. At The Skipton Academy, we are proud of our brilliant students, whose hard work, talent, and determination inspire us daily.
They are supported by a dedicated and passionate staff team, who go above and beyond to create an ambitious and caring learning environment. Equally, we are fortunate to have the encouragement of supportive parents and carers, who play such an important role in helping every child to flourish. Our ethos of Belong, Challenge, Inspire lies at the heart of everything we do.
It guides us in creating a school where every student feels valued, where they are stretched to achieve their very best, and where they are motivated to pursue their goals with confidence and enthusiasm.

Governing body (10 current, 0 former)
iAcademy trust: local governing body and trust board.1 governor is linked to a profile (all confirmed).
Governors marked “Confirmed same person” have exactly the same forename and surname as the only officer of that name at the school’s own academy trust company on the Companies House register, so we treat them as the same person. The governance record itself comes from DfE.
