About

Our Story We began as a part-time project with just three pupils, supporting them to re-engage with education. In 2014, we became an Ofsted-registered independent school, and in 2018 we were judged Outstanding. Our first school wasn't really a school at all, it started in a single room: the maths room at GRW, known then as The Green Room Project.

Many of the traditions and ways of working that still shape the Green Room today began there. Circle time grew from simply sitting around a table. Shared lunches between staff and pupils, the walk to sport, quiet chats over board games, the value of small classes and one-to-one time - these became the foundation of something lasting.

It was a space for honest conversation, where people could feel safe, seen, and unjudged. The name Green Room is a nod to those beginnings, but it's also become something more. What it now means belongs to those who ve been part of it - staff and students, past and present. A space to grow, to prepare for whatever comes next - even if next feels uncertain.
