About

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, a community rooted in faith, flourishing in learning and enriched by a proud heritage.

Since opening our doors in September 1955 - continuing the work begun by the Sisters of Mercy at the convent which neighboured the school - our school has been a place where children are nurtured, challenged and inspired. The legacy of the Sisters of Mercy remains central to who we are today.

Their commitment to revealing God's mercy through service, dignity and education lives on in our mission and can be felt throughout our school—from the statues of Our Lady of Mercy that grace our building and grounds, to the values we strive to embody each day. At St Joseph's, our core values - Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence - guide everything we do.

We believe that every child is created in the image of God and deserves to be loved, known and supported to achieve their very best. As a Catholic school, showing love through all our actions is at the centre of our mission, shaping the way we learn, play, collaborate and care for one another.

Governing body (9 current, 0 former)

iAcademy trust: local governing body and trust board.

1 governor is linked to a profile (all confirmed).

Governors marked “Confirmed same person” have exactly the same forename and surname as the only officer of that name at the school’s own academy trust company on the Companies House register, so we treat them as the same person. The governance record itself comes from DfE.
