About

Fakenham Junior School is situated in the middle of a small, but growing, rural market town. Pupils come to FJS from communities within the town and also some of the surrounding villages. There are approximately 260 pupils on role in years 3 to 6 and presently they are organised into 2 classes per year group (3 in Y6).

The vast majority of the children come to us from Fakenham Infant School, who we are in federation with, and most transfer to Fakenham Academy Norfolk at age 11. We have very good transition arrangements with both of these schools.

The population of Fakenham is generally stable with many of the families having lived in the town for several generations; a lot of parents and grandparents of the pupils also attended our school! There is some deprivation within the town which results in the school receiving Pupil Premium for approximately 25% of its cohort.

The school also has a significant level of Special Educational Need; this is currently running at about 20%.
