About

"Leaders show an admirable determination to improve pupils' lives and give them a positive school experience. Pupils are at the centre of everything they do." Ofsted, March 2020 Kingsgate School is a family run independent specialist school, with a leadership team who have an excellent reputation for providing the highest quality of education, therapy, welfare and support.

We welcome boys and girls aged 7 to 16 who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties as well as other complex needs often associated with autistic spectrum conditions and learning difficulties.

Kingsgate School provides bespoke education for up to 24 students who have an EHCP (Educational, Health, Care Plan) and come from local families, foster placements, or local children's homes. We understand that students will arrive at the school with challenging behaviours or an inability to cope in a mainstream school placement.

Many of them will have encountered negative educational experiences or disruption, and consequently lack confidence in their own abilities.
