About

King Arthur's School is an 11-16 school in the historic Somerset town of Wincanton. We sit at the heart of the local community, serving both the town and our surrounding villages in Dorset and Somerset. On 1st April 2019 King Arthur's School become an academy and joined the Sherborne Area Schools' Trust (SAST).

The Trust works with schools across Dorset and Somerset, working to ensure high quality education for all. King Arthur's has close links with the other secondary schools in SAST, and collaboration supports our excellent provision. We are a rapidly growing, yet small secondary school.

This helps us to develop a special family atmosphere within our school community, where every student feels cared for and valued. Every child really does matter and all children are known by all staff. Students thrive and succeed in our positive, caring and respectful environment. Numbers have increased rapidly and we are now at nearly 500 students.

At King Arthur's we cater for all young people, to help them develop the skills and qualities to thrive for life.

Governing body (9 current, 2 former)

iAcademy trust: local governing body and trust board.

1 governor is linked to a profile (all confirmed).

Governors marked “Confirmed same person” have exactly the same forename and surname as the only officer of that name at the school’s own academy trust company on the Companies House register, so we treat them as the same person. The governance record itself comes from DfE.
