Our vision builds on the strong start our children experience in our nursery where we nurture the development of loving, healthy, curious, knowledgeable and confident self-directed children facilitated by respectful responsive adults who understand and support learning from a childs perspective and starting point.
We have a strong Christian and inclusive ethos and a curriculum that focuses on character and personal development as well as academic achievement. Our dedicated and caring team of staff enable children to take part in all aspects of school life in a meaningful way, regardless of their background or starting points.
We are proud of our calm, nurturing, purposeful and orderly learning environment; our ambitious curriculum and sustained high standards of attainment across the school in all areas of learning both in terms of academic excellence and personal development. Finchingfield St John the Baptist is a small and growing village school.
Our teaching philosophy is influenced by the foundational principles of Montessori education, emphasising the belief that every child has the ability to learn, explore, think critically, absorb knowledge, make informed decisions, and grow into respectful, well-rounded loving individuals within a carefully prepared learning environment.
