Changing children's lives for the better An independent SEN (special educational needs) school that provides high-quality, outcome-based learning in a sensory-friendly environment.
Welcome to Esland Shropshire School Esland Shropshire School supports students between 8 to 18 years old who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP) and those with a primary need related to Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
We engage students in education through a broad and balanced curriculum, thats based on the National Curriculum programmes of study. However, we also plan and differentiate from the programme to meet our students individual needs.
When a student first starts at our school, they have an initial baseline assessment to help us better understand their needs and establish a curriculum 'starting point'. We use BKSB (Basic Key Skills Building) for English and maths, as well as reading, writing, comprehension and psychometric assessments.
