About

iWritten by WhatSchool from official school data (Get Information about Schools, DfE and Ofsted).

Welcome to Our School Growing, caring and learning together in faith, hope and love Stretton Handley Primary School is a smaller than average village school, situated on the edge of the Peak District in Derbyshire, close to Ogston Reservoir. We cater for children from 4 to 11 years of age, organised into small, mixed aged groups.

We have three main classrooms, a group work/Computing area and a central, well-equipped hall. We also have hard-court playgrounds and extensive grassed playing fields. Our 'Learning Garden' and Forest School area includes a bird hide overlooking a woodland area and a pond, bird boxes and an outdoor classroom surrounded by a sensory garden.

The school, which is set in rural surroundings, has developed a local history/nature walk, " The Woolley Moor Trail ". This walk is enjoyed by many visitors to the area and an online version of the trail can be viewed on this web site.

'The school has a very distinctive Christian ethos …This is securely embedded in all aspects of the school and impacts very positively on the school's provision and outcomes for the pupils.'
