About

Apprenticeships in Cumbria & the North of England Apprenticeships in Cumbria & the North of England We recognise the vital role that the agriculture, arboriculture, and forestry sectors play across Cumbria and the North of England. It is essential that the next generation is equipped with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to thrive in these industries.

Learners can apply for a range of apprenticeships in agriculture, arboriculture, and forestry, with core theory and practical skills delivered at various locations. The remainder of the apprenticeship is supported through regular tutor visits to employers.

The Level 2 General Farm Worker and Level 3 Livestock Unit Technician apprenticeship standards are designed to develop foundational skills, knowledge, and behaviours within the agricultural sector. Apprentices attend sessions every two weeks at delivery sites across Lancashire, Cumbria, and Northumberland.

Current delivery locations include the Food, Farming Innovation & Technology Centre at Myerscough College, Penrith Auction, Carlisle Auction, and Hexham Auction Marts, offering diverse learning experiences and opportunities to engage directly with the agricultural industry.
