About

Stockport Academy believes in creating opportunity to succeed - providing an outstanding education for its students through a relentless pursuit of academic excellence. Students are also supported in identifying and developing character, in their lessons, around school, in after-school activity and in their lives within their local community.

The atmosphere of the school is one of happiness and fulfilment with the whole school community thriving on high expectations linking to character education in all areas across the school.

In our most recent Ofsted report (2023), inspectors noted that our pupils are encouraged to be good role models , behave well and enjoy being part of the school community reflective of our school values of Aspiration, Respect and Community .

Governing body (9 current, 3 former)

iAcademy trust: local governing body and trust board.

1 governor is linked to a profile (all confirmed).

Governors marked “Confirmed same person” have exactly the same forename and surname as the only officer of that name at the school’s own academy trust company on the Companies House register, so we treat them as the same person. The governance record itself comes from DfE.
