About

Selly Oak Nursery School has an amazing history – it was one of the first Nursery Schools in the UK. The Nursery evolved due to the vision of the Cadbury family who wanted to provide high quality education and care for the youngest children of their workforce. The School is held in a charitable trust with the buildings/land managed by a Board of Trustees.

From 2012 a Board of Governors was also introduced. Our aim is for children to become ambitious, capable learners who are ready to build on what they already know and thus continue their exciting learning journey here and beyond. We aim to inspire the children to become creative thinkers, with full access to the local environment and community and to the wider world.

We challenge the children to become ethical and informed learners who care about the environments they access. We encourage our children to be healthy and physically fit citizens in order that they are able to become resilient and confident members of their communities.
