About

A message from Mr David Barker - Principal Welcome to The Oaklands Primary School – a vibrant, inclusive, and ambitious learning community in the heart of Acocks Green, Birmingham. I am incredibly proud to lead a dedicated and passionate team who place our children at the centre of all that we do.

As a two-form entry school and proud member of the Summit Learning Trust, our ethos is built around the Trust's core values: These values guide our daily practice, underpin our vision, and shape the culture of our school. Central to our school identity is our motto: LEAF – Learn, Experience, Achieve, and Flourish. This captures the essence of our approach to education.

We want our children to grow through meaningful learning, rich experiences, and purposeful achievement, so that they not only succeed academically but also flourish as individuals. LEAF reflects our belief that education is about more than lessons—it's about nurturing confident, curious, and compassionate young people who are ready for the world.
