About

Welcome to Mark First Church of England Academy. We are a small school situated on the edge of the village of Mark on the Somerset Levels, who provide a high-quality education for children from 2-9 years old.

I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher of our friendly and nurturing school, where we are committed to ensuring that we instill a love of learning for all our children, in an inclusive environment where children are encouraged to reach their full potential. We are part of the Wessex Learning Trust, with the central offices based in Cheddar.

Being part of a Trust with our local schools enables us to work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for our children, while retaining our autonomy to serve our local community well. As a Church school, we have close links with Holy Cross Church in Mark and our Christian values of Courage, Respect, Enthusiasm, Aspiration, Trust and Empathy permeate through school life.

Although we are small in numbers, we have some amazing outside spaces which we use for learning as much as possible, including two playgrounds, a large field and an outdoor classroom and pond area.
