About

At Busill Jones Primary School, we use a graduated approach to identify needs. Most children will have their Special Educational Needs (SEN) met through Quality First Teaching. This is good classroom practice.

The first thing we need to do when we feel we have identified a child as having SEN is to work in partnership with our parents and outside agencies (where required) to establish the support we feel their child needs here at school.

We will use appropriate assessment tools, and ascertain pupil progress through: Assessing the child's performance in National Curriculum against age related expectations.

Use of standardised screening and assessment tools, such as Sandwell Numeracy Test & Pearson Dyslexia Screening Where a pupil is identified as having a special educational need we follow a graduated approach which takes the form of cycles of Assess, Plan, Do, Review .

Governing body (1 current, 8 former)

iAcademy trust: local governing body and trust board.

2 governors are linked to a profile (all confirmed).

Governors marked “Confirmed same person” have exactly the same forename and surname as the only officer of that name at the school’s own academy trust company on the Companies House register, so we treat them as the same person. The governance record itself comes from DfE.
